SHINING HOPE to the next generation
We are the next generation and we are ready to RISE UP.
We are ready to stand together in truth. Encourage one another in love. We see the need around us and it continues to worsen. So we want to help.
We want to see improved health and wellness for our friends, our family, and the young ones coming behind us. It's a new world that's still changing fast and we need better support, more education and we need to discover The Living Light.
I am the Light of the World. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. - Jesus
Believe and Be Light
For at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light" - Jesus (Ephesians 5:8)
We are a church on the move, directly engaged in our community, passionate to live out Jesus' teachings and share God's love to those around us. Together, we shine a light of love and hope to ensure no one walks through life in darkness. We are dedicated to providing hope through essential supplies and community outreach.
Jesus says, “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me… Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’” - Matthew 25:35-40
Important Needs of Youth
in Our Community
-
Poverty: Vulnerable people seeking assistance, basic necessities and essential aid. As of 2024, roughly 2.5 million children live in food-insecure households.
-
Rising Unemployment: Youth unemployment has escalated, reaching 13.8% in March 2026. Many young people find themselves "over-credentialed but underutilized."
-
Mental Health Crisis: Approximately 1 in 5 Canadian youth (20%) now has a diagnosable mental health condition. Wait times for care often exceed acceptable limits. Surveys of Ontario students in grades 7–12 found that 18% (roughly one in six) had serious thoughts about suicide in the past year. 25% to 36% of people identifying at LGBTQ+ report suicidal ideation in the past 12 months
-
Absense of Faith, Purpose and Motivation: Suicide remains the second leading cause of death for those aged 15–34. Since the dawn of new technology, youth suicides in the U.S. increased steadily from 1999 to 2021, going from 3,901 deaths per year to 7,126. It jumped from 9.7 per 100,000 in 2007, to 14.5 per 100,000 in 2017 - 10 years after the release of the first iPhone.
-
Digital Addiction: Unhealthy daily screen time, phone addiction, social media addiction, p*rnography addiction and self-sexual-exploitation. Youth spend an average of 5.2 hours per day on their phones, while research shows screen time above 2 hours per day causes significant mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, loneliness, insomnia and suicidal thoughts.
-
Online Harms & Cyberbullying: Reports of online sexual exploitation have surged, and online sexual luring reports increased by over 800% between 2019 and 2024. Roughly 25% of youth report being cyberbullied, which is uniquely damaging because it is often impossible for victims to escape.
-
Human Trafficking: Currently, there is an estimated 2,000,000 children currently being sex trafficked. Sex trafficking is a $150.2 billion illicit industry - the fastest growing crime, with the internet playing a crucial & explosive aid. There has been 22 million child p*rn images uploaded to the internet in just 1 year. A 5000% increase in the last 5 years.
-
Sexual Distortion: In 2025, approximately 1 in 10 youth in Canada aged 15 to 24 (10.5%) identified as 2SLGBTQ+. This represents a significantly larger share than any other age group in the country. Ages 25-64 is just 4.1% and ages 65+ is only 1.3%.
While 2SLGBTQ+ youth are estimated to make up 10% of the general youth population, they account for approximately 25% to 40% of youth experiencing homelessness.
